Here at the Beach Hostel we aim to offer you more than just a clean,
comfortable, warm and friendly place.
We have been traveler's ourselves and this helps us to better understand your needs. We would like you to experience and enjoy the atmosphere we have created at the Beach Hostel!



Try our freshly baked wholemeal bread and muffins, watch the
incredible West Coast sunset's from our lounge and veranda.
Night walks along the beach and around the lagoon are a must do,
with crashing waves beneath a most spectacular southern
hemisphere starscape.
No TV - but lots of games to play. Simply chill out and read a book or
have good conversations with other fellow travelers.
We hope you will make many new friends as you share
this beautiful relaxing place.

We have space for 44 people between our two houses.
The Beach Hostel is right at the beach and offers Wireless Internet access.
The Seaside House is set in a quiet garden location, close to the
Punakaiki Tavern, and is specially suited for larger groups.
Both houses have laundry facility and well equipped kitchens with free tea, herbs & spices.

Please note: There are no shops/petrol stations or ATM nearby,
please bring everything you need. Punakaiki Beach Hostel is not suitable for young children. Minimum age is 12
